Size matters

To carefully watch my weight loss/gain, I have decided to check my measurements.

Week ONE
  • Chest - 107 cm
  • Waist - 100 cm
  • Hips - 123 cm
  • Thighs - 75 cm

Sort of breakfast...

Tea instead of coffee is probably not the best idea for the morning... no surprise I am still kind of sleepy and it's around 11am. But it's healthy... so I guess I have no choice but sticking to it. I also had an egg with little bread. I think it's good for me...
As for measuring the weight, I have decided to skip it today, as little weight loss or even the extra gain will only make me sad, and I might even give up on this whole dieting thing, so I will do it once a week.
I have also figured out what I am going to do with the exercising. I was thinking that instead of using the elevator at home, I will simply climb the stairs. For starts, once a day, and when I will be running out of breath less, I will do this more often. Also, a walk with my dog in the evening for 3o min. should also be good.
So this is my plan for the first week. We'll see how it goes.

How it was.... how it is going to be

I started thinking what could be changed in my daily routine that could help me with my weight. I guess my major problem would be lack of physical activities, i.e. sports... I do an office job which basically means 9 hours of just simply sitting in front on PC. I do not smoke, so I get only a short lunch break, which also means digging into very unhealthy food. I usually eat out, and the nearest place for me is pizza place, so you can easily add it all together and figure out what I eat. Even if it was 10 minute walk to the pizza place, I usually drive... so that's another negative thing. At work to clear my head I drink coffee....lots of coffee.... 5 to 7 cups a day. Naturally, coffee comes with sugar and cream, so that's a HUGE portion of calories that can be reduced. Now I get a better picture where do these 105 kgs come from....
Some physical activities would be exactly what I need, but I hate working out. I hate weight lifting, and I can't really do it because of my injured back. I also hate all the aerobics and other crap, as I cannot stand looking at myself in the mirror next to all these super model looking girls... I hate yoga, it's too slow for me... I need some action.... jogging maybe? But I would run out of breath in 5 mins... I will have to think it all over about the sports thing...
So for a start my plan is:
  • skip coffee breaks - drink water instead;
  • substitute sugar with honey;
  • drink at least two liters of water per day;
  • use shorts breaks to talk to the colleagues (that would mean climbing the stairs to the second floor);
  • bring lunch from home (something healthy);
Is there anything else to add? I guess I will have to get back to this list sometime soon... till then....

Cheers!

The starting point...105 kg

It came as a shock when I stepped on the scales. 105kg. How did this happen? How did I become so.... well...chubby would not be the word for 105kg, so I will go with FAT. Holly shit... I guess all the laziness and partying non stop added a few extra kilos, but 105? No wonder my skirts no longer fit, and my pants get stuck right above the knees.
Well, what I have done today is a good start. At least it is the first step taken in order to fix this whole mess.... in other words to loose at least what...30 or 40 kgs?
The next step would be monitor what I eat, and change the bad habits. At least that's what all the doctors suggest. The ideal thing would be also mix healthy eating with some sports, but I think I will be taking one step at the time.
So for those of you who will be reading and cheering for me, please do not hesitate to share your experiences.
